I’m disheartened that this is the actual new A4.
I was hoping those pictures we saw earlier was a clever bit of misdirection from Audi. And that the real new A4 was going to be better than this crap.
2017 A4 - Would you like a 2014 model with A3ish interior and new lights?

It’s not any less bland than pretty much the entire Audi range.

The A4...sure, we’ll sell you one, but wouldn’t you rather drive off in a brand new Q something or other? you wouldn’t oh well...yeah, I guess you can also buy the A4.

I really like it, clean aggressive lines.

“Hey, it was cold in the Alps! And I don’t need a big transaxle, anyway. I drive all four wheels. It’s all about how you use it!”

If I don’t love how it looks, I won’t buy it.
Using comes after the purchase...

I can already see this 10 years from now on car lots for under $10K. Can be said about most new cars yes..... but it’s very obvious with this

After 10 years, people on used car lots will be like
“I’m looking an A something from 2000 to 2000 and something that’s under 10k”
The salesman will show the buyer Audi’s entire sedan line up. Customers will quickly figure out that a longer A is more expensive than a shorter A. Unless it has a special engine.
The enire new Audi range will be Q cars. Q 1/2 to Q20.

lol indeed. The salesman will be like, “how about this nice Audi? This one is a.... uhh... hey Joey! What year is this one?!”
